The first of a collection of 22 plates depicting endangered species of animal from the Nordic regions. The plates were designed by Paul Hoff for the Gustavberg porcelain works. The eagle owl was the 1st to be designed in 1973. The animal motifs were screen painted with real gold ink onto paper and then transferred onto the plate and polished.
