An unusual and quirky handmade wooden Swedish policeman wearing the uniform of 1880 -1925. His name is Karl after Karl Björkvvist, Chief of Police in the Province of Gävle in 1916. A very stern gentleman, indeed.

The helmet style is called a Pickelhuva.

Karl is 17cm tall. He was made in the town of Falun in 1996 and is part of a collection of figures wearing uniform. The artist has signed the base.

There is a mark on his front that can probably be sanded off or painted over with black paint.
